In the last two weeks, I (Karl Nagel) have uploaded 720 punk photos to the website; currently, the focus is on the punk scenes of Hannover, Frankfurt, Wuppertal, and Rhineland from the years 1978-86, as well as images related to Chaos Days and APPD. However, this will later be expanded to include all other regional focuses - I've even been offered a mountain of photos from the GDR years 1980-89! Additionally, I still have about 400 unscanned pictures in the box and I'm also currently reaching out to many old contacts.
But at some point, it will come to an end. Then there will be nothing more. I can't just conjure these things up, and it can take months until I've really tracked down all the old friends somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
However, I am damn sure that many of you lazy slobs still have tons of ancient pictures under your sofa - and you better get them out now! It’s not enough to just gaze at the pictures with moist eyes and reminisce about old times. Nothing will happen that way!
If you truly don't have anything lying around, at least pass on the address of the photo archive to as many other people as possible - maybe there's something to be found THERE! Or write something about it on your website, post it in the guestbook of the Tierschutzbund, or find some other way to spread the word!
I am determined to upload at least 10,000 photos here over the course of the year, and that can only happen if even the last punk retiree realizes what's going on here! It has to spread like a snowball effect; I can't do this alone! If necessary, with the help of GOOGLE, that's why I'm also writing Punk-Fotos, Punk-Photos, and Punkphotos here so that the search engine has something to find. And Punk-Bilder. Maybe even Punkpix and Punk-Pix? Whatever it takes to create a really fat image archive!
Lastly: I will also do everything I can to reach the year 1982 with the IDIOTENKLAVIER this year - after all, there are some fun anniversaries coming up! So, a new episode every Sunday!
