Well-designed CDs and packaging have unfortunately become a rarity these days. The last time I held a well-crafted release in my hands was many weeks ago. But today, it’s finally happening again. What E.I.N.S. presents here can be called top-notch without batting an eye. It starts with the expressive digipack, continues with the extensive and very well-designed booklet, and culminates in the CD, which is designed in the form of a vinyl record. For such a work of art, I gladly give an extra bonus point!

Now, my expectations were naturally high after this first very good impression. Unfortunately, the 13 songs by E.I.N.S. could not meet these expectations at all :-( On the contrary. Instead of awesome German-language rock'n'roll, predominantly only slow rock, almost cuddle rock or better yet, bluesy cuddle rock, comes out of the speakers. The music feels soporific to me, and it doesn’t get any better even after the third listen of the 53-minute-long CD. Even the support from KNEIPENTERRORISTEN in the eponymous song, like the album title, doesn’t improve this CD. In the mentioned song, singer David Kern sings about "kerosene" that they supposedly have in their blood, as well as about "anger" and that their music is "hard and hearty." But instead of kerosene, it’s more like "bio-diesel" that E.I.N.S. has fueled up on; I can’t feel any "anger" in the songs at all, and we probably have different definitions of "hard and hearty." Additionally, almost every song contains a lengthy guitar solo, which I really don’t like. I have the feeling that guitarist Michael Schweizer, who wrote the 13 songs, wanted to profile himself with the album.

Even though it’s the debut album, I expected more, especially since E.I.N.S. has apparently been successfully touring the country as a cover band for 6 years. By the way, as a BÖHSE ONKELZ cover band, which is clearly audible in the vocals.
