DARK TIMES comes, like so many of their musical brothers, from Norway, specifically from Oslo. Unlike their musical brothers TURBONEGRO, GLUECIFER, and DIMMU BORGIR, who all also hail from Oslo (there are indeed an incredible number of great rock bands from every genre coming out of Scandinavia), the band consists of Riot Grrrls, at least 2/3 of the three-member band.
Musically, they deliver a powerful hardcore punk reminiscent of the old BLACK FLAG school. So far, so good.
Unfortunately, this pitiful, unmelodic female screaming is rather painful. While there are indeed vocal approaches reminiscent of Hanin Elias, the DARK TIMES singer clearly lacks musical maturity.
In 11 minutes, the listening pleasure of the 4 songs, or the third single from DARK TIMES, is over. However, before the fourth single is recorded, the Oslo group should still change something about the vocals; otherwise, it won't work out.
