The HC punk band Baffdecks, which has been inactive for a very long time, is now making a statement. Gert's quote: "So the band is currently on ice... let's say: Baffdecks are currently somewhat 'seemingly dead'... that would be an appropriate expression :-)...". Based on this statement, we can assume that the Baffdecks will remain inactive for the foreseeable future, and possibly for a longer time. Gert, the band's guitarist, also commented on this:

surely some people have already heard a few rumors that Baffdecks have now finally disbanded...
Well, as with every rumor, there is a grain of truth in it... Our long-time guitarist and co-main songwriter Markus - better known to everyone as "Ün", left the band a few weeks ago. He had his own personal reasons for this, which don’t need to be elaborated on here. Nevertheless, we are still very good friends, and I am still very sad about his decision and hate to lose him as a heart and engine of the Baffdecks...
He already has a new band in the works (by the way, together with Baffdecks drummer Jan) called The Lonesome Dragstrippers, and the guys will be playing their first show in the coming days... I wish both of them a lot of success with that...
As for what will happen with the Baffies themselves, no one really knows at the moment... Somehow we have always managed to pull ourselves together after lineup changes... but this time, to be honest, I definitely see it as bleak... At the moment, as a co-main songwriter, I simply have no great desire to integrate someone new into the band; I simply lack the time and energy for it...
Edde - the singer - has also stated that he no longer sees much sense in keeping the band alive without Markus. And I actually think the same... Baffdecks would not be the same with a new guitarist...
However, I don't want to completely rule out that in a few months we might reconsider... and maybe continue after all. But as I said - that is up in the air... So the band is currently on ice... let's say: Baffdecks are currently somewhat 'seemingly dead'... that would be an appropriate expression :-)...
