Resist to Exist Festival 2016
The good news: this year's Resist to Exist Festival will once again take place as usual on the first weekend of August - from August 5th to 7th, 2016 - but not at the usual location, which is the less good news. The team from alternati.ev has managed to conquer a new site in the Berlin area. The new venue for the punk rock festival is now located in the district of Oberhavel, Brandenburg, specifically in Kremmen (Oranienburger Weg in 16766 Kremmen). According to Wiki, the district town "borders the Berlin districts of Reinickendorf and Pankow." So the spoiled Berliners have to travel a bit further this year...
Nevertheless, some successful traditions are being upheld, as 40 bands will once again provide your entertainment over three days on two stages. In addition to the usual (fr)food stalls (vegan, vegetarian, meaty), there will again be some merchandise stalls from the bands, as well as various information booths on site. For those of you who are thirsty, beer and punch will be prepared, and the waste action (beer for trash) will continue. You won't have to miss out on cinema and aftershow either, and if the weather is (too) nice, there is a nearby outdoor pool for cooling off... ;)
Lovers of the good old postcard can send them to let their loved ones at home participate in this weekend, as the "field post" has announced its return.
The Resist to Exist Festival sees itself as antifascist, in the spirit of D.I.Y. – "Do It Yourself" with heart. The slogan "from the scene, for the scene" has been adopted by the Resist team, which consists largely of volunteers and helpers – a warm meal and free drinks are offered each day.
Discriminatory and sexist behavior are just as out of place on the festival grounds as Nazis and everything related to them – please stay away from this event, we have so much more fun without you! :p
So, did we forget something? Then maybe we'll see you at the stand of "Onkel Emma" – Onkel Emma is for those who find the local supermarkets too far, too crowded, or too stressful. There you can find everything you forgot, or even things you don't need at all. At fair prices, you can purchase, among other things, duct tape and/or tent pegs.
Ps: If you've always wanted to earn five minutes of fame, you can join the band P.I.Y. – PunkrockKaraoke and participate as a guest vocalist ;)
And because every muse must be mentioned: Thank you dear Bonni, for proofreading and text formulation help! ♡
