THE LAST GANG from Orange County in Southern California has released their third album, titled ”Obscene Daydreams“. The free translation of the album title is approximately as follows:

The band processes experiences and what people like them are concerned with in a sun-drenched spot on Earth across the 11 tracks of the album. That could be trivial, but it is not. This is proven, among other things, by the lyrics to “NRA Back 2 School“. The NRA is now a very influential organization and a significant gun lobbyist.
Or take “Rumors“. A text balancing between feminism and a WTF attitude.
“Dogmatic Capitalizer“ is a cynical, almost tasteless song about the system we all live in. No, it is not democracy; it is capitalism.
One experience the band likely had was a car ride from Rome to Berlin, which took about twenty hours. You don’t do that every day, even if the cities are only mentioned as examples.
The band is certainly thinking about the world, their environment, and themselves.
All of this is wrapped in fine, varied melodic mid-tempo punk rock of the Californian school.
The album was produced by Cameron Webb, who has also worked with Pennywise, Alkaline Trio, and NoFx. So it’s no surprise that the sound is beyond any doubt. And of course, the album is released on Fat Wreck Chords.
