PROPAGANDHI has been around since 1986 from Manitoba (Canada).
With their early albums, they made history and should be known to anyone engaged socially and/or politically.
The band is active in many directions. Their eighth studio album “At Peace“ impressively shows that they are not tired of this.
The undeniably outstanding recording delivers 13 songs that are musically diverse and lyrically valuable.
Not much has changed since the band's founding. Of course, they have become technically better, which is also evident on the album. The foundation remains melodic hardcore and punk rock, which is infused with elements of thrash, progressive rock, and alternative. Many tempo changes, guitar riffs that saw into the ear canal, and drums that set the pace like a stomping, angry machine. Along with the vocals of Chris Hannah, who delivers the lyrics clearly. A voice I recognize time and again. Charismatic, authentic, emotional, and honest.
PROPAGANDHI has not lost any of their old attitude.
The band has always stood and continues to stand for engaged punk rock that addresses and reflects problems, even within their own scene. Problems exist not only in the scene but also outside of it. We all know the injustices in the world, whether they are wars, exploitation, oppression, or more or less confused old white presidents.
It is good that there are bands like PROPAGANDHI. These bands provide strength and show that not everything is lost yet.
