There are a variety of small labels that are lovingly run and have a knack for interesting music. They often find interesting bands whose work usually doesn't stand in the spotlight. These are mostly bands that create their music with a lot of passion and enthusiasm. Often, they are only known to a small circle of loyal, devoted fans. Many small microcosms within the vast solar system of the music world.
One such small label is “Barhill Records“ from Saarland, and this special band is MIKROMOON from the capital of Saarland.
MIKROMOON recorded the album “The nearest distance“ in October 2024, also in Saarland, and almost 1 ½ years later, eight songs will be released on vinyl and digitally. The shortest song has a duration of 03:44 minutes and the longest song has a duration of 07:24 minutes. A surprising range and symptomatic of the band.
MIKROMOON call their sound “Independent Moongaze“.
What does that mean?
Take a rocky foundation, combine it with indie rock, wave, a bit of grunge, a pinch of psychedelia, blues, and post-punk. Or in other words:
