Why should we only present new releases here? After all, there are also older records that deserve to be pointed out. They can't help it that there wasn't a Ramtatta homepage at the time of their release. So, for those who haven't heard of some of these gems yet, you should definitely trust my good taste in the future and take a look at ...BACK FROM TASMANIA from 1999 by the Nuremberg band AMEN 81. An absolute killer record that definitely belongs in my top ten German punk albums. Here, absolutely awesome hardcore punk is paired with one great lyric after another. Cynical and aggressive to the max, it really gets down to business. The political lyrics, like those from ZYKLOP, MOTOR, or SCHWEINEGALOPP, are uncompromising and radical, which can certainly be debated whether one wants to see it that way, but sometimes you just don't want it any other way. But in any case, the lyrics are not dull, "beat the cops flat like sandwiches" nonsense. Thought has gone into this. And then there are songs like ICH WILL ATOMKRIEG, which I can't imagine being without on my Walkman tape. "Nothing I wish for more than the horror and terror on your shitty, fucked-up prosperity faces. I would love to see everything burn, want to hear your screams and then walk through your ashes..." There simply isn't a better soundtrack for taking the train or strolling down the street. The lyrics of FETENHITZE also spoke to my soul immediately. And with the quotes between the songs, like the one from Edmund Stoiber, you can sometimes only laugh in disbelief. Two songs are indeed close to stepping out of line, but overall, one can only say that truly one hit follows another! If you like combative German-speaking hardcore punk, you are definitely at the right address here, it couldn't be more right. The LP comes in a gatefold cover, and the lyric sheet is designed like a daily newspaper. Simply a thoroughly successful, music-turned monster that even came with a sticker as a gift.
