Bluthusten from Cologne has been around for a few years now, and over the years, the band lineup has changed very, very frequently. I believe that if you take the tram from Kölner Neumarkt to the Dom Hauptbahnhof, you won't see dramatically more people getting on and off the tram than the number of people who have joined and left the band Bluthusten. However, the one who has always been there and kept Bluthusten alive is singer and guitarist Det. After all these years, their CD "Verseucht wegen eurer Gier" was released in 2003 on Nix Gut Records, featuring 15 songs. Some of them are presented in multiple versions, bringing the CD to a total of 18 tracks. Aggressive fast hardcore punk is shouted in German against society until you reach tracks 13 to 18, which were created during the hear-loss-induced Bluthusten unplugged phase of the band and are of a calmer nature. However, they are not bad and have received some good reviews. My listening recommendation here is "Wort für Dich". Otherwise, the studio quality of the songs is very good and powerful. The live recordings are also worth listening to, including a fun cover version of Queen's "We Will Rock You". The booklet contains a few song lyrics and a bit of politics. The musicians who played the respective songs are not all listed individually, which gives the impression that the lineup seen on the CD played all the songs, but what can you do?! To my knowledge, Bluthusten no longer exists and will not exist again. Therefore, this CD can be seen as a discography through all the creative phases of the band, which has certainly turned out well, but it will not make it into my personal top 20 of German-speaking punk.
