Once again, an excellent CD has made its way into my collection! Dean Dirg has combined several small split single contributions, EPs, and LPs into one CD with The 35 Minute Blitz, resulting in a silver disc that contains 35! songs and lasts just under 30 minutes. And what follows is a true delight! Short, fast pieces that may sound very similar to the untrained ear, but for those familiar with the genre, it doesn't matter at all. Every song here is genuinely fun. It sounds like a mix of old school hardcore, early HIVES, and a good dose of punk 'n' roll, delivered with roaring vocals. The lyrics generally address individuals in society and everyday life. However, Dean Dirg expresses less criticism of society with their lyrics; instead, they make it clear that it simply sucks and the band can kiss their ass. My current favorite track is the slightly slower song Do It Right. But really, the whole CD is worth its few euros, so I can confidently rewrite a song from this CD to say: 14.95 - I will pay, 15.95 - I will pay, 16.95 - I will pay...
