Here’s something for your ears that was recorded instrumentally back in April 2005, as they had won some band competition and the Dramedia Studio apparently only wanted to use it for the music itself, while they recorded the vocals with Sebastian Blaschke from DAYS IN GRIEF in their own studio and mixed it right away. Since these gentlemen are from Cologne, this was of course done in Cologne as well. Unfortunately, this only consists of 3 tracks and a video. The music is nicely crafted and sounds like good ska and fat punk rock with a lot of melody. The only thing that slightly annoys me is the singer, who hits the notes but, in my opinion, doesn’t engage with the piece powerfully enough and comes across quite directly in the recording. With more power in the vocals, the last five percent would also be satisfied. It’s a shame that there are only 3 tracks and especially that the CD only plays the music in my new DVD player and only the video on my PC! The video is quite nicely done, but here too, the singer doesn’t convince me. One can look forward to summer 2007, when they apparently want to release their second album after a 3-year break. You can listen to it on MySpace and form your own judgment about this band, which has been doing their thing since March 2003. I’m very curious about the new record, and if it’s not more expensive than a fiver, then I can recommend it!
