Aha, learned something new again. There is a music genre called New Rock, and its big names include Creed and Audioslave. What I just learned, the three Swiss members of REDEEM probably knew for a while and decided to orient themselves towards these giants and enrich the world with another New Rock album. This album is called "Eleven" and consists of eleven songs, in the creation of which apparently more time was invested than in coming up with the album title. The recordings are decent, and the sound is thick. The instruments deliver solid pressure and are played by people who know how to handle them. In terms of tempo, there are few fast passages, but the drummer is certainly pounding hard on the skins. The singer has a pleasant voice, both when singing and when screaming. This New Rock music performance reminds me a bit of 90s grunge with a good dose of Ugly Kid Joe. For home use, this album definitely represents a usable alternative to radio programming for me, but I doubt any of the eleven songs will make it onto my next Walkman tape, and I also believe I would probably get bored at a live concert despite some moments that the album has to offer. I'm more into fast-paced stuff. Nevertheless, this album is certainly anything but bad, and those who like New Rock will probably be well served here. In the booklet, all the lyrics can be read. My listening tips after five listens are "Splendid" (Song 1), "Black Monkey" (Song 4), and "Dreams You've Lost Along the Way" (Song 8). Maybe the album is called "Eleven" because you have to listen to it eleven times for it to fully appeal to you?! However, I first need a break before I can answer that question. http://www.redeem.ch http://www.oneandonerecords.de
