With this album title, you immediately notice that three underachievers have formed a band. Their talent ensures that they barely pass as underachievers and not as good self-assessors, but in my opinion, a highlight of guitar music is not being thrown onto the market here. Musically, the music of the three Americans is punk`n`roll, which they themselves like to call "indie-punk." In the band info, the music is touted as the most versatile punk rock in a long time, incorporating many elements from other genres alongside punk. However, these genres always relate to areas of guitar music and not hip hop or techno, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Here a touch of rock, there a pinch of rockabilly, and another portion of young Red Hot Chili Peppers. It's true. The album is versatile. One could either appreciate the versatility or find it annoying, as somehow the common thread is missing. For me, the spark just doesn’t seem to jump here, even if they rock according to the band info, making their role models tremble. If I’m in the mood for one of the many genres, I’d rather listen to the music of Angsthasen.
