This is how you can introduce Emo to the hardcore fan. The music of the five Austrians who founded DEFCON in winter 2005 consists of a successful mixture of punk rock, hardcore, and emo/screamo. Initially a bit confused, I must admit that this blend has something to it. Very energetic and powerful, the sound hits you hard, and the emo vocals don't even sound weak. The only comparison that comes to mind is BOYSETSFIRE. I can also answer the question about the band name: Defense Conditions (in English, 'defense state'), also abbreviated as DEFCON, refers to the alert status of the U.S. military.
