RamTatTa - GRANADA74 – Blue is No Form

About 5 years ago, the 3 guys from Cologne formed and are now presenting their second album here. This will be released at the end of the year on December 30, 2006, by Finestnoise and Radar. The listener will find 9 songs that are very differently structured. Very simple, yet very poppy and a bit rocky like THE HIVES, just not quite as powerful! Now and then, a bit of Hamburger Schule a la TOCOTRONIC also comes through, but overall it sounds very British. The whole thing is accompanied by German lyrics that find no expression anywhere else, but still grab you, as they revolve around everyday life... The vocals can express themselves well and the guitars sound good in a garage style. Unfortunately, the recording is much too clean for this type of music; a little dirtier would make it more authentic.
In just under half an hour, it’s all over, and I would bet that here and there someone would hit Play again. GRANADA offers a different kind of German rock music here, and I quite like it, as one probably agrees not to repeat all the nonsense that already exists.
