The 3 guys and 1 girl from Grolbüdels in Hamburg play strict German punk in a mid-tempo style. Their debut album offers 13 solid punk songs. Everything is not bad and audible, but the last spark just doesn't quite ignite musically. For me, there are missing songs with "hit potential" and "sing-along" effects, especially in the choruses. However, the album is well-produced sound-wise, and the layout is also impressive. The band comes across as likable, and their predominantly political lyrics are thoughtful and refreshingly "mature" for a German punk band tackling these political themes. In addition to songs about the "world of machines", politicians, globalization, deportation, and wars, the record also includes personal content as well as two English-language songs. Conclusion: Musically expandable, but a solid group with clear opinions! Anyone who wants to support Grolbüdels on their further journey can order the album for 5 euros + 1.60 euros shipping from them: Christian Böttjer, Chapaurougeweg 6, 20535 Hamburg.
