RamTatTa - High on Fire – Death is this Communion

High on Fire is a heavy hardcore metal juggernaut that carves its way through our ear canals with the 88 tracks of the CD "Death is this Communion". What doesn't fit here is made to fit. Lemmy's older brother seems to have been recruited for the vocals, and in the 56.48 minutes that this hurricane sweeps through the landscape, it’s just a relentless assault. With "Waste of Tiamat," it gets even more intense; an ultra-cool riff. One gets the impression that the trio is playing "On Steroids." The music partially reminds one of Black Label Society, even though it comes across as a whole lot rougher and more straightforward. And of course, the solos are a bit more streamlined and not as wildly intricate. The sound is also more aligned with stoner rock.
So, throughout the entire playtime, it's very good entertainment.

One more word about the copy protection of the CD:
Really a good idea to cut the 11 pieces into 88 small snippets and then burn them onto the CD. Maybe you know this, you have an mp3 player that can't play mp3s seamlessly one after the other — just a great experience in itself.
Maybe not everyone has noticed yet, but we live in the present time, and that means some people want to listen to the CDs they buy for a lot of money on their computer or mp3 player without spending hours dealing with idiotic ideas about Digital Rights Management. I can't imagine that this increases the attractiveness of CDs.
