37 minutes of playtime and 8 songs. As a punk rocker, I have to say: "Phew..." According to the promotional sheet, the band from Brandenburg has been around since 1990 - whether they were called that back then, no idea - they started with political punk, then landed in hardcore, and after numerous style changes and breakups, they now deliver this album. Where this musically belongs? No clue! But who needs categories... Emocore, noise, stoner rock, sometimes reminiscent of grunge, it’s all there, with roots in punk rock and especially hardcore bursts evident in the vocals. Complex song structures with melodic parts and noisy sections, but overall, it all comes across as very monotonous and endlessly repetitive. Vocally, calm emotional parts alternate with a few screaming attacks. Mood-wise, it’s emo at its finest. I have rarely experienced music that so thoroughly lulls you into a depressive state over time. This is probably the point, and it will surely find its fans, but this whole thing is not my scene at all. The CD was recorded back in 2005 at the renowned Troisdorfer Bluebox Studio, released by the Finest Noise label and distributed through Radar. The label could have put in a bit more effort with the overall product; the booklet consists of exactly one cover and one back side...
