THE BLACK HALOS have released their new album. After a tour with Social Distortion through the USA, they retreated to the studio and recorded "WE ARE NOT ALONE" there. An album that definitely shows strong parallels with SOCIAL DISTORTION. Some songs seem to come straight from that band, as they sound so similar. However, THE BLACK HALOS are anything but a band that plays the music of a well-known group to achieve success. THE BLACK HALOS are simply too good for that. The songs have, alongside Rock'n'Roll influences, also a strong '77 punk rock touch, and the band has certainly listened to a fair amount of Swedish sleaze rock. Otherwise, some songs cannot be explained. All the songs are melodic and catchy. However, sometimes the gas pedal could be pressed a bit harder. Especially the slightly slower tracks have their lengths. On the other hand, the faster songs rock like hell and show that Rock'n'Roll is far from dead. With "WE ARE NOT ALONE", THE BLACK HALOS have delivered a damn good rock album. With this album, they will certainly not be alone.
