RamTatTa - VERSUS YOU – This is the sinking

Our boss of this homepage has actually managed to slip me a record from an indie rock band. Maybe he wanted to test how far he can go? Well, what VERSUS YOU from Luxembourg offers on their album is not bad. The songs all stem from indie rock and are in the mid-tempo range. Influences from emo and hard guitar rock can be heard in the songs. These influences have been incorporated into the songs in a very measured way, allowing VERSUS YOU to be considered a good and classic band in the indie rock genre. The songs are quite radio-friendly, although smaller radio stations are likely to give the band a chance, as there might be too much rock in the music for the larger stations. However, this is precisely the point that allows the band to stand out positively from the indie rock crowd.
As a highlight, they supported bands like The Killers, The Hives, The Datsuns, and several other high-profile bands at a major festival in their home country in 2006.
Why the album is called “This is the sinking” remains a mystery to the band, as with this album they can surely achieve quite a bit.
