RamTatTa - STAM1NA – Raja

Already the second metal band to find its way into my punk rock-dominated household. Stam1na from Humpaa-Land makes my CD player glow. It's amazing what the Finns blast out of the speakers. I would almost call this speed metal, but as always, the information is without guarantee. I can understand why the album stormed the charts in Finland; the music just pushes forward so much, clears your brain, and still manages to impress with one or another convincing melody and strategically placed breaks. The insane speed impresses me enormously. The singer's voice is also convincing and fits seamlessly with the music. The whole thing is nicely done with all the lyrics in the booklet and illustrated with quirky photos. I can't say anything about the lyrics, though, as they are all written and sung in Finnish, and that language is completely incomprehensible to me. But it doesn't bother me at all when enjoying the music, they could sing me anything.
A must-listen is definitely the sixth song, it starts at a breakneck speed, takes a little time for the chorus, and then smashes everything again, yes I think I can get used to this CD and will dig it out more often.
So I can only recommend giving it a try and going wild. Does anyone still know the guys from Two Unlimited? No? No Limits and all that?? Haha, they have nothing to do with the Finns here, but they were on the same label (Zyx), if I'm not mistaken, quite a funny label policy. That the thrash metallers are miles better goes without saying, so feel free to check out their homepage or MySpace page and check out the album available since the end of June 2008.
