The first track is a completely unnecessary intro, which can also be found on countless other albums. I will never understand what that is supposed to achieve. With track 2, the first song begins. It has a rockabilly vibe, but is much more punk rock than what is typically offered by usual rockabilly bands. Unfortunately, on this album, the double bass has been completely replaced by the electric bass. However, the sound is fat and the music pleasantly melodic. At certain points, there are also hints of Social Distortion. By the third song, the pace does lose some momentum, but that doesn’t feel disruptive. By the end, things pick up again. In between, one or two surprises are pulled out of the hat, giving the album its moments. But even though the record has a good handful of hits that I’m glad to have on my mp3 player, it doesn’t fully convince me 100 percent. Too many songs make me tune out. However, it’s still worth giving it a listen.
