Something different, yet very familiar. That was my judgment upon first listening to the CD of “MARRIAGE“ by ATTACK IN BLACK. It is indeed strangely familiar what the band offers here in 12 songs. They are wonderful indie pop gems. Here and there, a melancholic voice shines through, and when the drums get to pound, it quickly sounds like alternative or even punk rock. Overall, it is very pleasant indie pop. Pop can also be indie. It just has to be different, non-commercial, and unforced. The band's music is far from the beaten paths. The music comes across harmoniously, sometimes almost delicate and fragile. After just a few minutes of listening, a sense of inner balance and tranquility becomes noticeable. The sound manages to not only captivate you but also sweep you away. Yes, you don't fall asleep; you stay awake, but with a positive sense of balance. ATTACK IN BLACK make music that is rarely heard today, and it is just right for a calm drive. “MARRIAGE“ is an album that has secured a place right at the top of the pop Olympus.
