After 14 years of the band's existence and just before the departure of their drummer, Zaunpfahl has released this live recording. However, the listener is not just offered a simple live CD of 80 minutes in length. Additionally, there’s a live DVD with recordings from the same evening at Tankhaus Stavenhagen, which runs for another 2 hours. Quite a lot of content for 15 euros!!! As far as I can tell, all the band's hits are included on the disc (including "Terrorist", "Musik", "Tote tanzen keinen Pogo", "Kreuze", "Baum gepflanzt") and the feeling of attending a Zaunpfahl concert is very well captured. The live sound is also more than clear and the DVD is enjoyable. Since DVDs are rated by the FSK, there’s the paradox that three songs are not found on the DVD due to their lyrics, yet they are included on the CD. Because of the DVD, it can only be accessed from age 16. The problematic songs are "Ich lebe", "Terrorist", and "Ob sie will oder nicht". The latter has caused some internal commotion within the scene, with accusations of sexism against the band, performances being canceled, the whole spectrum really. Even though I am completely against this witch hunt and certainly do not want to side with self-proclaimed judges, I have always found the lyrics of that song to be crap and at least misleadingly executed. Be that as it may: the rest of the songs create a vibe, sometimes critical, sometimes cheerful. With this product, you get not only good music in the form of independent German punk rock but also an incredible value, which should excite any Zaunpfahl fan!
