A nicely packaged CD in a digipak that lies here on my desk. Guitarshop Asshole hail from the punk’n’roll stronghold of Recklinghausen in the wonderful Ruhr area and kick ass with a cheeky symbiosis of punk and rock’n’roll. With a total of 14 songs, things get lively here, including two covers of other bands, namely Nirvana (Territorial Pissing) and Oblivions (Guitar Shop Asshole, which was a must). Otherwise, the course is clear; as mentioned above, the old VAdder Punk and his sister-in-law Rock’n’Roll create a bastard that will surely find its friends. A bit of cheekiness here, a little guitar melody there. Overall, it’s nothing major, but it has its charm, so why not. The lyrics are not printed, and I can't quite make them out well enough to comment on them. Well, there’s not much more to say about this record; it comes across a bit like a regular snack, nothing special, but you can always take a bite. It’s better to listen for yourself at the music store of your choice. Or here: Guitarshop Asshole My Space page or here: Antstreet Label MySpace.
