Soon, no one will believe me when I say I have no idea about Metal anymore, as I keep diligently reviewing one Metal album after another, haha. So let's get to it. This time, Early Grave is roaring through my ear canals, and I mean that literally. Death-Metal-Core is the genre they slip into. The first song after the intro starts off quite decently fast, and I can't believe that the guys are partly still underage; they really know how to push forward. The double bass pounds, the guitar joins in, and growls and vocals alternate. The obligatory breaks with the melodic part, if you want to call it that, round it all off. Personally, I find the slow parts with that whiny singing annoying, while the fast ones really kick in and are, as it nicely states in the info, produced bone-dry, which is quite noticeable. By the way, they are from England. The cover artwork is quite successful, beautifully dark, all lyrics printed, and it seamlessly fits the mood of the album. However, for me, one or two songs would have sufficed; the rest is redundant and sounds like something I've heard before. The lyrics probably won't change the world, and I don't think they want to either; why would they? They exude a nice morbid charm (at least partially). All that's left is to wish you a lot of fun with this metal edge. The album has been available since mid-August 2008, released by Rising Records UK.
