Recently seen at the Sonic Ballroom in Cologne, the four-piece band, which emerged from the Ruhrpott bands District and The Revolvers and is here supported for the first time by Daniel (The Kleins) on guitar, delivers a good mix of '77 punk and rock'n'roll on their second album. The emphasis here is on punk rock. A few years ago, and even recently during a live performance, the voice of singer Marc annoyed me a bit, but after a few complete spins of the disc in my CD player, I seem to have gotten used to it. They can hardly be compared in the German punk rock scene. While he resembles Johnny Rotten extremely in the heavier songs, he comes quite close to a girl punk band singer in some of the quieter ones. As for understanding, my English is already mediocre enough, and then there are those accents in British pronunciation; I'm glad that all the lyrics are printed in the booklet... The 11 songs that follow the instrumental intro offer a range from strong to solid and from powerful to mid-tempo - and above all, a style based on English origins that is not often found today. I prefer the faster songs. Recommended tracks are "Poverty Makes Angry", "I Love My Life", "Dead End Street", "Sporting Socks & Sandals", and "Drinking (The Song)". The fact that the album stays under the 35-minute mark might not be so bad, as the band can also become a bit tiring over time, emphasis on "can". Released by People Like You Rec..
