ONE FOR THE TEAM from the Midwest of the USA offers 12 beautiful indie tracks over 38 minutes. The music of the trio from Minneapolis is absolutely pleasant, varied, and beautiful, rooted in the indie rock (pop) tradition of many predecessors, regardless of whether they come from their homeland or the motherland UK. Catchy melodies, strong pop-laden passages that are quickly replaced by dominant indie guitars, and the pleasant duet vocals of Anderson and Grace Fiddler make this record never boring, even if creativity and variety decline towards the end of the album. But that doesn't have to be a bad thing if the beginning sets the (good) direction - and that's how it is here as well. Lyrically, the album ranges between simple and creative and offers no failures here either.
The band, originally founded as a solo project by Afternoon Rec. founder Ian Anderson, did well to come together as a full band after the additional song material was reviewed and ultimately recorded by Anderson.
Fans of indie pop and rock will surely enjoy this album.
The good piece was (logically) released by Afternoon Rec. / The Militiagroup.
