Witchbreed was founded in 2006 by former Moonspell bassist Ares. Now, the first full-length album of the Portuguese metallers, produced by Waldemar Sorychta (LACUNA COIL, THE GATHERING, SAMAEL, TIAMAT, MOONSPELL), has been released.
The voice of the singer somewhat resembles Doro, supported by dark guitars. After a pleasant intro, the CD begins promisingly with "Simphony To Fallen". The dark male voice in the background wonderfully complements it.
However, by the second track, the album noticeably flattens out, strongly reminiscent of "Nightwish", meaning it's been heard a thousand times and always reheated.
Only "Fang & Claw" might be something you could have playing in the background on a cozy evening. In summary, I would say it might have been better to wait a bit longer before producing a full-length album; as it stands, this CD just makes me tired.
