Emmure will release their fourth work "Felony" on August 21, 2008. In addition to the impressive debut work "The Complete Guide To Needlework EP" (2006), the two studio albums "Goodbye to the Gallows" (2007) and "The Respect Issue" (2008) were also released.
Now comes their third creation from Victory Records. Right from the start, you get a solid auditory experience. Hammering drums, aggressive guitar playing, along with the growling of the singer. Metal/Deathcore at its finest, the breakdowns are present and the music is noticeably influenced by hardcore. But unfortunately, this style drags on throughout the entire CD. The music trickles out of the speakers without any highs or lows; you sit there the whole time hoping for a rise, but unfortunately, you wait in vain. Moreover, the whole thing strongly reminds me of Limp Bizkit, Korn, and Slipknot - just in Deathcore form.
Perhaps after 4 years of touring and three studio albums, the well of ideas is simply dry, and the guys should take a creative break. Despite all the criticism, it is well produced, hence the 5 points.
