MY GLORIOUS are from Vienna and play groovy rock. The trio is often categorized in the indie genre, which I believe is not entirely accurate. This is alternative rock, primarily groovy, and occasionally even a bit grungy. Rough, straight, and at times melody-loving. ++++ Absolutely rocking sounds, strong beats, and a certain harmony culminate in partial, powerful melancholy. In just under an hour, guitarist Sami and brothers Gregor (bass) and Paul (drums) manage to record both classic rock numbers and calm, thoughtful pieces. ++++ The band was founded in 2008 after the dissolution of the band FRESH. Their debut album "Leper" garnered significant attention, leading to a US tour. The new album "Home Is Where The Heart Breaks" sounds promising and should seamlessly follow up. ++++ The songwriting is sophisticated, and the arrangement of the pieces is well thought out. The tracks flow into each other almost seamlessly, creating a pleasant harmony. However, I personally miss the absolute highlight, the song that you would want to play a few times in a row. ++++ Anyone who feels addressed by the genre description above should definitely give it a listen.
