ADRENALINE 101 come from Switzerland, more specifically from Zurich. The cover looks like it promises quite decent music. And since the band has recently been primarily present through their live performances, the logical step is to release their first album at a time when many have seen the band and might still have their music in their ears.
On their debut album “Twelve Step Program“, ADRENALINE 101 present clean metal rock. I would even describe it partly as metal-pop. The melodies are catchy and pleasant, but they don't stick. The production is extremely clean, and the instruments are very distinctly heard. Delon's vocals are powerful, fit well with the songs, and have volume. Delon knows how to handle his voice. All of this is very promising, but as clean as the recording is, it lacks flair. The songs all sound like generic material that is radio-friendly but lacks spirit. The melodies are pleasant, but they don't linger, and they don't hurt either. ADRENALINE 101 do nothing different than many other bands that have dedicated themselves to (poppy) guitar-driven rock with metal influences. This might attract a few fans at the moment, where emo and gothic rock are in, but it will definitely not lure the true rock 'n' roller or metal fan out from their corner.
