A new album by DAVE EVANS. This is sure to raise the pulse of all leather-clad hard rockers. DAVE EVANS was a founding member of AC / DC and was already on stage in 1973. While his former bandmates jet around the world every few years, filling stadiums and venues, DAVE EVANS is taking a different approach.
However, taking a different approach doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad. And someone who has been in the business as long as DAVE EVANS can rightfully call himself a hard rocker from the very beginning without sounding ridiculous.
Being a hard rocker from the very beginning also means playing the music that was popular back then and changing very little. DAVE EVANS manages to do just that at the age of 58 on his album “Sinner”.
The songs are all wrapped in typical hard rock attire. This might make the songs sound a bit outdated to untrained ears. However, for the trained hard rock ear, this music is quite something special. The guitar carries the sounds with its chords, which DAVE EVANS shapes into songs with his diverse and very charismatic voice. The drums provide the necessary pressure on the boards, so it can only be said:
All knobs to the right!
With this album, DAVE EVANS has succeeded in bringing the honorable hard rock of yesteryear into modern times without sounding flat or forced. This is rock, heavy, hard, with a good dose of attitude. “Sinner” rocks, and it rocks hard. Hell Yeah!
