FLAMING COCKS from the Czech Republic existed for 6 years, from 2002 to 2008.
This great punkabilly band unfortunately left us far too early.
In their six years of existence, they played around 150 concerts, many of which were in Germany. The band built a large fanbase in our country.
Their sound, a driving mix of punk rock combined with double bass and psychobilly influences, infected many listeners from the very first time, making it impossible not to love the band.
Their fame was also bolstered by the album “Cockain,” which was released in 2006 and unfortunately remained the band's only album release.
On February 2, 2008, the band from Prague played their last concert at the Rock Cafe in their hometown. The concert was sold out. The band played 23 of their songs one last time. Both the band and the audience gave their all, reflecting the energy that made the band so beloved.
The concert was recorded by their supporter DJ Tchichiman and has been available as a DIY DVD for some time.
The DVD recording is certainly not comparable to professional recordings made with multiple cameras, microphones, and extensive post-production.
However, the recording is quite good given the circumstances. Above all, the energy of the band comes across very well. The sound, even over a good system, cannot be compared to a CD recording, but it is close.
For fans of the band and for those who have heard something about this band, this DVD is a worthwhile purchase. Priced at 200 Czech crowns (approximately €8.00), the disc is very affordable. It's best to contact the band via MySpace to order the DVD.
