ICON CLAN come from Helsinki and have been playing together since 1999. In the eleven years of their existence, they have recorded two albums and toured Europe.
After seven years, their third album is now being released, titled “Rock´n´Roll Rodeo“. Releasing a new album after such a long time gives the impression that the band wants to prove themselves once again.
With “Rock´n´Roll Rodeo“, they can draw from a wealth of material.
The 14 songs are wrapped in very cool Rock´n´Roll attire, influenced by punk and a touch of hard rock. The band presents everything in an extremely melodic and catchy manner. The songs go straight to the ear. The rhythm makes you want to move immediately and enthusiastically play air guitar. ICON CLAN manage to bring so much rock into their songs without the strangely popular long guitar solos in the scene, that the songs just take off like Schmidt's cat.
Especially outstanding are the opener “Bridges burn“ and “Fat boy“, but the other songs are hardly any worse.
ICON CLAN have transplanted the sound of Rock´n´Roll into modern times and have nurtured and watered it well. The result is a magnificent, strong plant that excites.
While I find it a bit exaggerated that the band is sometimes compared to Motörhead, because first of all, Motörhead sounds somewhat different and secondly, the band has its own profile, overall, it is certainly not a bad reference.
ICON CLAN make a striking comeback with “Rock´n´Roll Rodeo“. One can only hope that they will soon hop over the Baltic Sea again and grace the stages of Europe with their sound.
