What do you do when you come home frustrated from work?
You could yell at your dog or break your stupid neighbor's nose. Surely, those are methods to vent your frustration, but not good ones. It's better to put on the album “Kingdom of Hades“ by NECROTTED. Pop it in the player, turn all the knobs to the right, and off you go. Five to ten minutes, depending on the severity, and your mind is clear. If you want to physically exert yourself, you can do that to the music as well.
NECROTTED hail from southern Germany, specifically from Abtsgmünd. For those weak in geography, that's northwest of Aalen. In rural no man's land.
So several young men thought it was time in 2008 to shake up the local shooting festivals. NECROTTED was born.
In the two years since, the five of them have surely met more than once in the rehearsal room. That's the only way to explain the technically precise songs blasting from the speakers.
The guys offer Deathcore of the growly and evil kind. Brutal drum parts alternate with mosh parts that can make you dizzy. The vocals, often a weak point for younger bands, come across well, although a bit more volume and power would benefit the singing. The band even tackled a German lyric. It's not exactly the best, but it's an attempt, and with consistent execution, it could even fill a niche that has been almost unoccupied so far.
Overall, there are few weaknesses to mention. NECROTTED have done a lot right, are technically very good, and are launching a CD-EP with “Kingdom of Hades“ that will attract attention.
Just a small tip, for really evil looks, NECROTTED were not born. The picture in the booklet looks very wannabe. Leave that, guys, and find a motif that suits you next time.
