Band: RaffNix – My Opinion
medium: free download
Until now, the band "RaffNix" from Herzogenrath was completely unknown to me. So I could approach it without any preconceived notions to see what the punk scene has to offer.
Of course, one shouldn't expect musical masterpieces here, but rather fun, a high pogo factor, and of course the fulfillment of all clichés of today's assel punk scene, which is not meant negatively at all.
The first track comes across fairly well to me, as it really speaks to my soul at this moment. It's nice to be able to sing along early to "Deiner Meinung". However, in the second song "Schutt und Trümmer", they just mess around unmusically and literally lay everything to waste.
As a very special anthem, I find the next number, which is now a permanent part of my MP3 player. My daily morning ritual of expelling my intestinal contents now has a really great motivational melody and makes it much easier... the "shitting". So you can tell that these are guys who really deal with many serious theories during the day. Well, one can certainly try to find the punk in the content, but it's difficult because there's hardly any variation, which makes listening to the album quite challenging. Of course, I have to say that some lyrics are really not bad, but for me personally, it just feels too much like a rough approach. Although, haaa stop, there it is, what I was looking for. A song with recognition value. "Was ist los" is already number 9 on the CD, but it can really appeal to you. I have to honestly say that I find the vocals very pleasant there. Okay, I did find a piece of music after all.
However, that's just too little for a complete album. Overall, I can imagine that there is some fun factor at the concerts. But I can't deal with a band that only relies on clichés. Maybe I'm just not suitable for assel punk anymore.
It should be mentioned that everything has been done here in a DIY manner and is offered for free download. At least no blank is wasted.
Conclusion: 19 songs, of which 3 are listenable, the rest can be seen as senseless wandering on the instruments. Maybe more will come someday.
