CD Review – Infiziert – Tinnitus
What can I say? As a left-leaning person, I always find it difficult to deal with the term Deutschrock. And when there are such great slogans that fulfill all the clichés associated with Deutschrock in today's time, it becomes even harder to remain objective.
The band slogan "We stand together, we fall together" sounds to my ears like unfulfilled male patriotism and a delusion of status symbols.
And this is all categorized under "Punkrock." Well, let's be surprised and take a listen to the CD.
With the first track "Tinnitus," which is also the title of the CD, we are immediately blown into the Frei.Wild. horn. Cliché Deutschrock with a lot of pathos about strength and fighting spirit, to show the world that we are the strongest.
Let's wait and see how it continues.
"So ist die Zeit" starts off musically quite interesting, although the last note of the guitar intro comes off very out of tune. No, dear people. This has nothing to do with punk rock. This is the 542 Onkelz clone. And not really good in quality either. Many notes are simply off, although sonically something decent has been crafted, but the guitarists should have taken a bit more time.
"2000 Jahre" is then the band's own interpretation of Kirche, a theme that the Onkelz also addressed years ago. Stylistically the same and also misinterpreted, because it was not God who turned water into wine... it was God's son!!! But that doesn't matter now. Because at this point, I will stop listening to this piece of work.
Everything has been done before. The statements against everything and everyone. The statements about one's own manhood (König Viagra) and the statements about how terrible everyone else is.
I cannot understand attacking everyone while forgetting that one should also sweep in front of one's own door. There is a lack of mental maturity. Even if all the songs have a high sing-along factor, not this time, dear Infiziert boys.
Keep playing with Frei.Wild and the like, and leave the term punk rock out of it.
