Back to the past…
No, I’m not going to tell you about Adam and Eve, but about Matthias, Martin, Daniel, Benedikt, and Christian. These five gentlemen share a common passion with BRIDGES LEFT BURNING. A hardcore band!
The current EP was reviewed some time ago on ramtatta.de and found to be good.

The still current album from 2010 is titled “A Breath of Loss” and presents twelve songs that have laid the groundwork for the current EP and surely for the future development of the band.
The band from the Bavarian Forest has delivered a small, hard, and subtle record.
Wavering between old school and new school, all the works are powerful, melodic, and angry. Yes, the band is angry, but that doesn’t turn them into a blunt music roaring monster. The band channels the anger into good interplay, speed, breaks, and the will to deliver a good song that has it all.
BRIDGES LEFT BURNING do what they like, so they probably won’t please the scene police. As mentioned, they oscillate between the styles of hardcore and occasionally flirt with punk rock and emo. It’s a mix that is enjoyable nonetheless, or perhaps because of that. It’s the energy that the band conveys. It’s simply captivating.
Songs like “Fullspeed ahead down a One-Way-dead-End Street while wearing blinders” or the great “Bombs for Peace” are real hits. Not only musically but also lyrically.
“A bomb for peace is like a fuck for virginity…”
or
“…When did ignorance become a point of view?”
There is more than just a statement behind that. It’s more about probing the wound of society. Ignorance, hatred, and greed have always fought against humanity. This is not new, and the outcome does not look good for humanity. However, listening to BRIDGES LEFT BURNING brings about an energy in the gut area that is hard to control. An energy that, when properly directed, can achieve something. Thus, the dead trees on the cover are not without hope. Something is growing below. Debris are the stones of hope.
BRIDGES LEFT BURNING, a good means to regain courage, even when the situation seems hopeless.
The band is currently supporting Peta with their EP. An organization that is not without controversy, but still one of the most important animal protection organizations worldwide. So, I can only warmly recommend this album alongside the current EP.
The band could become what Anti-Flag is in the punk scene.
