Kreftich from Dinslaken, who have completely passed me by until now, have recently released a new record titled 'Up to Here and Then Further' to the public. What you can hear is melodic punk rock with rough, scratchy vocals, sometimes solo, sometimes harmonized, with a strong recognition value. The German lyrics are sometimes more or less socially critical, and there’s always a hint of melancholy that reminds me in some places of influences from Dritte Wahl. In between, there are a few brass sections to be heard, such as at the end of 'Wohin' and in 'Immer Wieder'.
The record doesn’t completely blow me away; overall, everything sounds a bit too 'smooth' and not diverse enough.
