The gods of brass instrument punk rock are back in action. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are once again delivering the goods. And what can I say, they are simply the gods of ska-punk.
Right from the first track of the current album "The Magic of Youth," you can't help but dance. "The Daylight" exudes just the right mix of three-chord punk rock and well-measured brass sections.
And so the record makes its rounds, spreading just the right mood on a dreary morning.
"Disappearing," the third track of the album, is becoming one of my favorites from the long player. A great groove that sometimes comes off a bit "funky." It continues seamlessly. One feel-good track after another. And during this dreary Christmas season, it fits perfectly into the home sound system.
Conclusion: For fans of happiness, it's a blast. A danceable ska album of the finest quality. However, it remains true that you need a certain ear for ska. For everyone else, it can quickly become boring.
I like it and would recommend it anytime.
