Just over a year after Fettes Brot announced their indefinite hiatus, the first solo album by König Boris is now being released.
12 songs characterized by electro-pop-punk beats, but also many synth sounds that fit very well with the last albums of Fettes Brot and now come across as even more exuberant. According to the album title, this results in very danceable music.
However, if you listen closely to the lyrics, you quickly find yourself back in a state of restlessness. Sharp, precisely critical, eloquent, and witty with clichés, the paradoxes of our society are articulated. Superficial, fast-paced, a world with a much better mood than its actual state. A central figure in this is Mister Middle Class, who is also fond of being 'against' things, but then again, not too much and especially not against his status quo. On May 1st in Kreuzberg, but then quickly back to the comfort zone, continuing to watch the conditions in the world deteriorate. And on the other side, the people who are easily overlooked - with too little faith in themselves and the conviction that they can make a difference.
A successful start as a solo artist and more than just a consolation for all the sad Fettes Brot fans.
In 10 cities, DER KÖNIG TANZT could already be experienced live in the second half of April.
