ADOLESCENTS or THE ADOLESCENTS, as it says on their homepage, which only links to their Facebook page. ADOLESCENTS I know the band from California from somewhere, where the musicians are swapped out more often than other musicians change their underwear. And these phases of dissolving and re-establishing have already been gone through by the guys several times. Still, the band name sounds so familiar to me, but even after days of pondering, I can't find the solution to the riddle. I probably saw them as a supporting act, although the likelihood of having seen them at a festival is even greater. I can usually remember 1-2 supporting acts, but all 52 bands at a festival, no, I might forget a band, and only by chance, like now, would it come back to me. And on tour, ADOLESCENTS have been active throughout their 32-year band history (does the band name ADOLESCENTS still fit in German: Jugendliche?), including 15 years of interruption, with well-known bands like BAD RELIGION, NOFX, GOOD RIDDANCE, THE OFFSPRING, PENNYWISE, etc. With their melodic hardcore punk, they fit wonderfully with these bands, even if this 4-song EP only allows a small glimpse into the realm of ADOLESCENTS. But it was enough for me to recognize them again, and I still ask myself the question, where have I seen them before or do I know them from a sampler??!?! Also possible, anything is possible. However, ADOLESCENTS haven't released that many songs in the 17 years, and mostly only on EPs.
But one thing I know 100%! ADOLESCENTS are 100% awesome!!
Nevertheless, I can't give 10 points for 4 songs and no booklet and/or any other sensory pleasure. However, there is still a ½ bonus point, because these 11 ½ minutes are available not only on CD but also on a 12" vinyl record. J
