The album title "Delorean" sounded familiar to me right away... The car, that awesome gullwing speedster from the movie "Back to the Future" with Michael J. Fox and Doc, uh, I don’t know, that was a "Delorean"!!! Yes, the golden 80s... Back then ;-) And the guys from MY DEFENSE also experienced those 80s up close, maybe not all of them, but the majority, I guess.
And like a "Delorean," the five guys from Cologne also step on the gas, so that from the very first second the road is glowing. The cover fits perfectly, with two burning tire tracks on the asphalt. Nicely done J Unfortunately, the rest of the booklet is very sparse, practically nonexistent. In other words, there’s almost nothing, except for the lyrics, which are hardcore short and snappy. Two of the 8 songs are just 20 seconds long. One of the two short tracks titled "Üb mehr im Kopp" fits like a glove J The remaining 7 songs are in English and Greek! Even though I really enjoy this awesome hardcore music, I have to deduct points for the vocals. Because I didn’t understand anything! The vocals are simply too quiet! Without the lyrics in the booklet, I wouldn’t have even realized that "Üb mehr im Kopp" has German lyrics or that "Blätterteig" is 90% in Greek! On the other hand, the guys have been in the business for a long time; they know how it works. Drummer Björn was already with one of my favorite bands 25 years ago!!! URLAUB IM ROLLSTUHL *strike*!!! The two U = I x R albums "Seveso Kids" and "Totenkult" were on repeat for me back then.... Oops, I’m digressing....
