In the 26th year of their band history, PROPAGANDHI releases their sixth and hardest album, "Failed States." But whenever I think of the Canadians, memories of my first PROPAGANDHI concert come to mind. That was over 16 years ago, on April 4, 1996, at AJZ Bielefeld. After "How to Clean Everything" from 1993, their second album "Less Talk, More Rock" had just come out, and even back then, their very political melodic punk rock songs set the AJZ on fire. The AJZ had the right audience for it as well. Today, in addition to the melodic punk rock, there’s a healthy dose of heaviness, which benefits the album. While back then, the songs never exceeded 2½ minutes, on "Failed States," more than half of the 12 songs are over 3 minutes long. This gives the songs the right length and makes them anything but boring. Every single song pushes forward, even if some songs take a while to get going. Unfortunately, I don’t have a booklet, so it’s hard for me to say much about the lyrics. At first glance, everything seems to remain the same, true to their motto "Anti-Fascist – Gay-Positive – Pro-Feminist – Animal-Friendly."
Therefore, RECOMMENDATION TO BUY!
10 Points [ -1 Point because the promo department didn’t send a booklet. I don’t even have a cover (had to pull it from the internet)]
