Dear ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you to the Bremen cocktail bar "Underground der 80er". Serving you tonight are Findorff-Paule, Rudi Rallala, Örg, and Kiffer. The specialties of the four are musical cocktails from the early 80s. Not without reason, the team adopted the code name GRUPPE 80 five years ago.
While Kiffer takes care of the bass lines in the cocktails, the other three alternate on the guitars, drums, bass, and microphone. Örg is additionally responsible for the appetizers organ, synth, and keyboard. Since all of them previously worked in other Bremen cocktail bars, their musical skills are undeniable; however, they mostly refrain from showcasing them tonight and offer the second evening under the motto "yes yes" following their first joint evening (in 2010) which was themed "same".
Among the 18 cocktails offered on this second evening, there is an intro spoken by their friend Martin Semmelrogge and a small track of a solid 9 seconds.
The other cocktails are, as mentioned, predominantly based on musically simple chords. True to the name of the cocktail bar, the visitors can expect the beats of the early 80s. From ABWÄRTS to FEHLFARBEN and TOMMI STUMPFF to ZK. Additionally, there is a decent splash of NDW and, last but not least, as a crowning touch, the "Soundtrack zum Untergang" parts 1 + 2 as well as "Paranoia in der Straßenbahn". By the way, all cocktails have 1¼ to 3¼ revolutions per minute, and as a flavor enhancer, the themes of the 80s are also served linguistically. From the apocalypse (which we just survived on December 21) to the cops and the fascists.
In conclusion, a nice bar, but the cocktail spark just doesn't quite ignite for me. I prefer to stick with my bourbon whiskey.
Plus point for the booklet and the CD box!
