TREATED is a band from Austria, specifically from Burgenland. The band has been around since 2009 and has had quite a steep career since then.
After an EP and a single, as well as two tours through Eastern Europe, they decided to record their first album.
The album “Where life takes us“ incorporates not only a lot of creativity but also the experiences of the last four years.
The fourteen songs sound very fresh, which is not always the case in the hardcore/metalcore genre. The songs not only sound fresh but also somehow positive. This is certainly due to the many melodies, the multi-part vocals, and the really good recording. The songs develop a peculiar dynamic while listening, making it often feel as if the band is playing multiple melodies at the same time, which fit together so perfectly that it can almost make you dizzy. Another positive aspect of the vocals is that it’s not just screaming. There is also singing, angry huffing, and fierce hissing, all with the exactly right dose.
TREATED delivers a melodic hardcore monster with “Where life takes us” that still takes my breath away even after multiple listens. Here, technique is paired with the attitudes of hardcore and a tendency towards perfectionism.
