RamTatTa - STAND YOUR GROUND – the chaos around

Stand Your Ground is a law in the USA that can be compared to the right of self-defense in Germany. It allows one to defend against any unlawful attack, even to the point of killing the attacker. While in the USA it is enough to open a car door for the purpose of car theft, commit trespassing, or engage in stalking, in Germany one must be threatened with serious violence, such as with a "long" knife, and even then only under restricted circumstances, for example, not against children. A criminal proceeding occurs automatically, and one cannot rule out ending up in jail, whereas in the USA, after the facts are established, one usually gets released from the Police Department right away.

These are hard facts, and the music of STAND YOUR GROUND is hard as well. With "The Chaos Around," the five guys are now presenting their second album, which is sonically top-notch. The album contains 10 powerful hardcore songs, although the melodies are somewhat lacking. This means STAND YOUR GROUND cannot stand out from the large pool of HC bands.
With "Allein," STAND YOUR GROUND also has a German-language song on the album; the rest are in English, and thanks to the booklet with all the lyrics, the songs are easy to listen to. However, I don't feel like singing along during the 25-minute playtime of the album, as the songs lack the necessary catchy character.
Even though all songs and important data can be found in the booklet, which I always value highly, my thumb goes down for this booklet. The cover and back are still quite good, but I get eye cancer from the remaining 10 pages!
