Now the time has come, I hold the very first demo tape from Ventilation Shaft in my hands. One of the youngest punk rock bands from Bavaria that I have ever heard. I wouldn't dare to estimate an average age ;-) I met singer Leon Camillo at one of our concerts, where we quickly decided to play together. And what can I say? I really thought they were going to tear the place apart from the concert hall. Damn, Chaos Days mentality 100% and let’s see if any of those old, dormant, no longer existing punk rock legends can match that. Some are just a shadow of their former selves, but what is coming at us from Munich is absolutely authentic. Even various despicable credit institutions couldn't intimidate the band, forcing them to change their name from Raiffeisenpunk to Commerzpunk, ultimately to Ventilation Shaft. The aggressive vibe that comes through has remained from the start, screw the band name. I am totally positively surprised by the sound of the demo tape. According to reports, some former studio producer of Udo Lindenberg was involved (at least that’s what I was told haha) and he took care of the recordings. Here you can hear straightforward German punk of the old school, and the songs could very well be from the eighties! The very snotty vocals of singer Leon are unmistakable, and the recording quality is really impressive! Besides self-painted and stapled CD covers, there are 4 original songs and a cover of "Fuck the USA" by Exploited with German lyrics! Wow, I must say it turned out really well!!!! The guys are daring quite a bit. Sure, musically there is still room for improvement, but hey, considering that the band has only recently come into existence, there is already considerable power behind it, and I am sure that if this already great development continues, it won't just be concerts in the Munich area.
